pyrography
Heat-etched decoration
Pyrography is the art of decorating wood or leather by burning designs into the surface with a heated metal point.
The technique creates images through controlled scorching, producing shades from light tan to deep brown: She learned pyrography to make custom wooden signs.
Also called woodburning when the medium is wood.
