political movement
Collective ideological campaign
A political movement is an organized effort by a group of people working toward shared political goals—changing laws, influencing public policy, or transforming society.
Movements may operate within or outside established political parties: the civil rights movement, the Tea Party movement, the labor movement.
Unlike political parties, movements emphasize grassroots mobilization and collective action over electoral politics, though successful movements often reshape party platforms or spawn new parties.
