plaster walls
Smooth indoor barriers
Plaster walls are interior wall surfaces made by applying wet plite, gypsum, or cement mixture over a base of wooden strips called laths.
Before drywall became standard in the mid-20th century, plaster walls were the norm in home construction.
They're denser and more soundproof than drywall but harder to repair: The old house has its original plaster walls.
