plasters

Spreads on thickly

Plasters are bandages—specifically the adhesive strips covering small wounds, called Band-Aids in American English but plasters in British usage: Have you got a plaster? I've cut my finger.

Plaster is also a paste ofite calcium sulfate and sand applied wet to walls and ceilings, hardening into a smooth surface.

To plaster is to apply this material, or figuratively to cover thickly: The story was plastered across every tabloid.
