wet

Soaked with liquid

The adjective wet is the opposite of dry and has some overlap in meaning with moist and damp, both of which imply the presence of less water or other liquid than wet does.

Wet weather means frequent rain; wet snow has a high moisture content.

In figurative use, wet can mean allowing the sale of alcohol (a wet county), or politically, lacking conviction or determination.

To wet something is to make it wet.
