Light-sensitive printing medium
Photographic paper is light-sensitive paper used to produce prints from negatives or digital files.
The paper is coated with silver halide emulsion that darkens when exposed to light and processed with chemicals.
Different surfaces—glossy, matte, pearl—affect the final appearance.
Though digital printing has largely replaced traditional darkroom methods, the term persists for any paper designed specifically for photo reproduction.
