photoblogs
Image-based web journals
Photoblogs are blogs consisting primarily of photographs rather than text.
Unlike traditional blogs where images supplement written content, photoblogs reverse the emphasis—images carry the content while captions or text remain minimal.
They emerged in the early 2000s as digital cameras and photo-sharing became accessible: She maintained a photoblog of her daily commute.
The format has largely been absorbed into platforms like Instagram.
