perspectives
Ways of seeing
Perspectives are viewpoints or ways of seeing things.
The word works both literally and figuratively: an artist renders a scene in perspective, while a historian offers a fresh perspective on the Civil War.
To put things in perspective is to see them in proper relation to other matters.
To gain perspective is to achieve clearer understanding, often through distance or time.
