point-of-view

Where you stand

Point-of-view is the perspective from which something is seen or narrated.

In fiction, it designates who tells the story—first person (I walked into the room), third person (She walked into the room), or the rare second person (You walk into the room).

More broadly, a point of view is someone's opinion or way of seeing things: From my point of view, the project was a success.

Often shortened to POV, especially online.
