peddler
Door-to-door salesperson
A peddler is someone who travels from place to place selling goods, typically small wares or items carried in a pack or cart: The peddler sold pots and kitchen tools door to door.
The word now often carries negative connotations—someone who sells questionable things or pushes unwanted ideas: a peddler of conspiracy theories, drug peddler.
Also spelled pedlar in British English.
