trading post
Remote barter station
A trading post is an establishment in a remote or frontier area where goods are bought, sold, or exchanged.
Historically, trading posts served as outposts where settlers or merchants traded with indigenous peoples or trappers: The fur trader brought his pelts to the trading post.
The term now applies to any shop in an isolated location, often with rustic or frontier character.
