onloading

Putting goods aboard

Onloading is the process of loading cargo, passengers, or materials onto a vehicle, vessel, or aircraft—the opposite of offloading or unloading.

In corporate contexts, onloading refers to bringing work or functions back in-house after they had been outsourced, reversing an earlier offloading decision.

The onloading of containers delayed our departure by two hours.

After quality issues with vendors, the company began onloading its customer service operations.
