debarkation

Leaving the vessel

Debarkation is the act of leaving a ship, aircraft, or other vessel—the opposite of embarkation.

The term appears most often in military and cruise contexts: Debarkation began at 0600 hours.

Passengers receive debarkation instructions before docking.

Also spelled disembarkation, which is more common in everyday use.
