music videos

Songs with footage

Music videos are short films created to accompany and promote songs, typically featuring the performing artist.

They emerged as a major cultural form with MTV in the 1980s and now circulate primarily on YouTube and social media.

The visual component can be anything from concert footage to elaborate narrative or abstract imagery: The album's lead single dropped with a music video directed by Spike Jonze.
