Airplay is the broadcasting of a song or music video on radio or television.
A track that gets heavy airplay is played frequently; one that gets no airplay is ignored by stations.
The term extends to any media exposure: The scandal got a lot of airplay in the press. (Capitalized AirPlay is Apple's streaming technology.)
