Generation X

Post-boom demographic

Generation X refers to people born roughly between the mid-1960s and early 1980s, following the baby boomers and preceding millennials.

Often shortened to Gen X.

The generation is stereotypically characterized as skeptical, independent, and culturally shaped by latchkey childhoods, MTV, and economic uncertainty: Gen Xers entered the workforce during the recession.
