green screen
Effects compositing background
A green screen is a bright green backdrop used in film and video production, allowing editors to replace the green area with other images or footage through digital compositing.
The technique, called chroma keying, works because the vivid green is easily isolated by software: The weather forecaster stands in front of a green screen showing the map.
Blue screens serve the same purpose but green has become standard in digital production.
