scrum
Bound pushing formation
A scrum is a tight formation in rugby where players from both teams bind together and push against each other while the ball is thrown in between them.
The word extends to any crowded, pushing group: a scrum of reporters surrounded the mayor.
In software development, Scrum (often capitalized) refers to an agile project management framework using short work cycles called sprints. (Capitalized Scrum specifically denotes the software methodology.)
