midfoot
Between heel, toes
The midfoot is the middle section of the foot, between the heel and the toes.
It contains the arch and the cluster of small bones that connect the ankle to the forefoot.
In running and sports medicine, midfoot often describes a landing pattern: a midfoot strike distributes impact more evenly than landing on the heel.
