arboreal
Living in trees
Arboreal means relating to or living in trees.
The word appears most often in biology: arboreal animals like monkeys and squirrels have adapted to life in the forest canopy.
More broadly, arboreal can describe anything tree-related: arboreal landscapes, arboreal habitats.
The word carries a slightly technical or literary feel compared to simply saying "tree-dwelling."
