kinking
Developing tight curls
Kinking is the formation of a tight loop or twist in something flexible, like a hose, wire, or hair.
When a garden hose kinks, water flow is blocked or reduced.
The term extends to muscles that develop painful knots or cramps: My neck is kinking up from sleeping wrong.
In some contexts, kinking refers to engaging in or exploring unconventional sexual practices, derived from the noun kink.
