flexure

A bending motion

Flexure is the act of bending or the state of being bent.

The term appears most often in technical contexts—anatomy, geology, engineering—where precise description of curves matters: the flexure of the spine, a flexure in the rock strata.

A flexure is also the bent part itself, the curve or fold where bending occurs.
