keygen

Software activation circumventer

A keygen is software that generates product keys or serial numbers, typically used to bypass software licensing.

Short for "key generator." Keygens are associated with software piracy, often distributed alongside cracked programs.

They sometimes include chiptune music and elaborate visual interfaces as a signature of the cracking group that made them.
