pseudorandom

Seemingly random, computed

Pseudorandom describes something that appears random but is actually generated by a deterministic process.

In computing, pseudorandom numbers are produced by algorithms that, given the same starting value (seed), will always produce the same sequence—useful for simulations, cryptography, and games where reproducibility matters: The shuffle uses a pseudorandom number generator.
