karting

Small vehicle competition

Karting is racing small, low-slung, open-wheeled vehicles called go-karts or karts—simple machines with a frame, engine, and four wheels but no suspension or bodywork.

The sport serves as an entry point to motorsport for many professional drivers: He started karting at age six.

It also exists as recreational fun at commercial tracks.
