heel-toe
Smooth stepping technique
Heel-toe describes a driving technique where the driver uses one foot to operate both brake and throttle simultaneously—heel on the accelerator, toe on the brake, or vice versa—allowing smooth downshifts while braking into a corner: He heel-toed through the chicane.
The term also applies to a style of walking or dancing where the heel strikes before the toe: heel-toe technique in clogging.
