intramural sports
In-house team games
Intramural sports are athletic competitions organized within a single institution—typically a school, university, or company—rather than between different organizations.
The Latin roots mean "within walls." Students who aren't varsity athletes often play intramural basketball, soccer, or softball for recreation and low-stakes competition: I joined an intramural volleyball league my freshman year.
