kickball

Foot-propelled diamond game

Kickball is a playground game resembling baseball, but played with a large rubber ball that players kick instead of hit with a bat.

The pitcher rolls the ball along the ground toward home plate, and the kicker boots it into the field.

Popular in American elementary schools, it requires minimal equipment and accommodates large groups: We played kickball at recess every day.
