Broomball is a hockey-like team sport played on ice, but with sneakers or soft-soled shoes instead of skates, a rubber ball instead of a puck, and brooms or padded sticks instead of hockey sticks.
Popular in cold-weather regions, especially on frozen ponds and recreational rinks: We played broomball after the lake froze over.
