interpolating
Inferring between points
Interpolating is inserting something between existing elements.
In mathematics and computing, it means estimating unknown values between known data points: The software interpolates missing frames to smooth the video.
More broadly, to interpolate is to interject remarks into a conversation or insert passages into a text: He kept interpolating comments while she tried to finish her story.
