honk

Blare the horn

Honk is the sound a goose makes, or any similar harsh, nasal noise—especially a car horn: The taxi honked impatiently.

As a noun, it's an instance of that sound: a honk of the horn.

To honk can also mean to vomit, and in British slang, to smell bad: This cheese honks.
