halfling
Peaceful diminutive humanoid
A halfling is a small humanoid creature in fantasy fiction, typically standing about half the height of a human.
The term was popularized by J.R.R.
Tolkien as an alternative name for hobbits, and later adopted by Dungeons & Dragons and other fantasy games to describe similar diminutive folk—cheerful, nimble, and often underestimated: The halfling rogue slipped past the guards unnoticed.
