habituate
Get someone used
To habituate is to make accustomed through repeated exposure.
You can habituate yourself to cold showers or habituate a wild animal to human presence.
The process works both ways—you habituate to something, or something habituates you: After a few weeks, she had habituated to the noise of the city.
Habituate is more formal than "get used to" and often appears in scientific contexts discussing how organisms stop responding to repeated stimuli.
