haberdasher
Seller of neckties
A haberdasher is a dealer in men's clothing and accessories—hats, shirts, ties, gloves.
The term is more common in American English, where it suggests a specialty shop rather than a department store: He bought his suits from the same haberdasher for thirty years.
In British usage, a haberdasher traditionally sells sewing notions: buttons, ribbons, thread.
