bespoke tailor
Made-to-measure craftsman
A bespoke tailor makes custom clothing fitted to individual clients, as opposed to ready-to-wear or made-to-measure garments.
The term originated on Savile Row in London, where fabric was said to "be spoken for" when a customer claimed it.
Bespoke tailoring involves multiple fittings and hand construction: He had his wedding suit made by a bespoke tailor.
