graviton
Theoretical force carrier
A graviton is a hypothetical elementary particle that would transmit gravitational force, much as photons transmit electromagnetic force.
Predicted by quantum field theory but never detected, gravitons would be massless and travel at the speed of light.
The particle remains theoretical because gravity is extraordinarily weak compared to other fundamental forces, making detection with current technology impossible.
