spermatogenesis

Making male gametes

Spermatogenesis is the biological process by which sperm cells are produced in the testes.

The process begins at puberty and continues throughout a male's life, taking roughly two to three months to complete each cycle.

The term appears primarily in biology and medicine: Chemotherapy can disrupt spermatogenesis.
