Surface sheen gauge
A glossmeter is an instrument that measures the shininess of a surface by directing light at a specific angle and measuring how much reflects back.
Used in manufacturing and quality control for paints, coatings, plastics, and paper: The glossmeter readings showed the new finish was too matte for the client's specifications.
