flyfishing
Artificial lure angling
Flyfishing is a method of angling that uses an artificial fly as bait, cast with a specialized weighted line rather than a heavy lure.
The technique requires skill in casting and "presenting" the fly to mimic natural insect behavior on or below the water's surface.
Flyfishing has a reputation as a contemplative, almost meditative pursuit: He took up flyfishing to decompress from work.
Also spelled fly-fishing or fly fishing.
