float planes
Pontoon-equipped aircraft
Float planes are aircraft equipped with pontoons instead of wheels, allowing them to take off from and land on water.
Also called seaplanes or pontoon planes, they're common in regions with many lakes or limited runways: The float plane landed on the remote Alaskan lake.
The pontoons remain attached during flight.
