trail maintenance
Keeping paths passable
Trail maintenance is the work of keeping hiking paths usable and safe—clearing fallen trees, managing erosion, repairing bridges, and cutting back overgrowth.
The term covers both routine upkeep and larger restoration projects.
The club organizes trail maintenance days each spring.
Much of this work on public lands relies on volunteers.
