firewire
Fast serial interface
FireWire is a high-speed data transfer standard developed by Apple in the 1990s, used primarily for connecting digital video cameras, external hard drives, and audio equipment to computers.
It competed with USB but offered faster sustained transfer rates, making it preferred for video editing: I captured the footage through FireWire.
The technology has largely been superseded by USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt.
