miniDV
Small video cassette
MiniDV is a digital video cassette format introduced in 1995, widely used in consumer and prosumer camcorders through the 2000s.
The small tapes record high-quality digital video and became the standard for home movies and independent filmmaking before being displaced by tapeless formats: I found a box of old miniDV tapes in the closet.
Also written mini-DV or Mini DV.
