DAW

Music production program

DAW stands for digital audio workstation—software used to record, edit, and produce audio on a computer.

Programs like Pro Tools, Ableton Live, and Logic Pro are DAWs.

Musicians, podcasters, and sound engineers work in DAWs to layer tracks, apply effects, and mix final recordings: I recorded the vocals in my DAW and added reverb. (Lowercase daw is an archaic word for jackdaw.)
