ferromagnet
Magnetically retentive material
A ferromagnet is a material that can be strongly magnetized and retains its magnetism—iron, nickel, cobalt, and their alloys are the common examples.
The atoms in ferromagnetic materials align their magnetic fields in the same direction, creating the permanent magnets we stick on refrigerators.
The motor uses powerful ferromagnets to generate torque.
