bar magnets
Rectangular magnetic pieces
Bar magnets are magnets in the shape of rectangular bars, the form most familiar from science classrooms.
Like all magnets, they have north and south poles at opposite ends—opposite poles attract, like poles repel.
The compass needle swung toward the bar magnet's south pole.
