liquid state
Water's normal phase
The liquid state is one of the three classical states of matter, between solid and gas.
In the liquid state, molecules move freely past each other but remain close together, giving liquids their characteristic ability to flow and take the shape of their container while maintaining a definite volume: Water exists in the liquid state at room temperature.
