fence-post

Vertical boundary anchor

A fence-post is a vertical stake driven into the ground to support a fence, typically made of wood, metal, or concrete.

Posts are set at regular intervals with rails or wire strung between them.

In computing and mathematics, a fence-post error (or off-by-one error) occurs when you miscalculate boundaries—like counting the posts in a fence instead of the gaps between them.
