Skating in reverse
Fakie is a skateboarding and snowboarding term for riding backward—moving in the direction opposite to your normal stance while keeping your feet in their usual position.
Distinguished from switch, where you actually reverse your foot placement.
The term has spread to other board sports and occasionally appears as slang for anything done in reverse or faked: He pulled a fakie on the half-pipe.
