endometriosis
Misplaced womb lining
Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus—on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or elsewhere in the pelvic cavity.
This tissue responds to hormonal cycles, causing inflammation, pain, and sometimes scarring.
Symptoms include severe menstrual cramps, chronic pelvic pain, and infertility.
She was diagnosed with endometriosis after years of unexplained pain.
